Maurice Haycock, mineralogist, geologist, photographer, musician, painter, historian, radio operator, died in Ottawa on December 23, 1988, at the age of 88 years. ... [Haycock is remembered for his many talents and achievements including receiving the Massey Medal from the Royal Canadian Geographical Society in 1980, receiving an Honourary Doctorate of Civil Laws degree from Acadia University in 1986 and the display, at Acadia, of a retrospective exhibition of more than 80 of his arctic paintings.
