Michael Falk is a PhD candidate in Romanticism and Digital Humanities at the University of Kent, UK. He researches Romantic-era texts whose protagonists fail in their self-development, using text analysis to make sense of this depressing literature. His work has appeared in The Journal of Language, Literature and Culture, and in Studies in the Novel.
