This article, the third transcribed interview (edited for readability) in a concurrent series highlighting leaders who have been instrumental in shaping the profession in Canada, is an interview with William A. Borgen, a prominent leader in the Canadian counselling profession. This article will focus on Bill’s achievements during his career and recommendations for the future of the profession in Canada. In particular, the interview provides insight, guidance, and wisdom for influencing future leaders in counselling.

    Daniel Baucom is a student in the Master’s degree program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, North Carolina, USA. His research interests include reducing recidivism among individuals with serious mental illness diagnoses and the prevalence of anxiety disorders among adolescents.
