Ce cas suit Star, une responsable de la réussite des étudiants autochtones, alors qu'elle naviguait dans les politiques et les pratiques formulées dans la rhétorique du soutien à la réussite, à la santé et au bien-être de tous pendant une pandémie mondiale. À l'aide d'un modèle plus holistique et intégré de santé et de bien-être autochtones, un modèle qui situe la santé et le bien-être comme englobant tous les aspects de la vie d'un individu, le récit décrit les défis auxquels Star a été confrontée lorsqu'elle travaillait pour soutenir les étudiants autochtones et leurs familles tout en préservant sa propre santé. Ce cas et les notes pédagogiques qui suivent illustrent les limites que les modèles occidentalisés de santé et de bien-être créent pour les enseignants autochtones et non autochtones lorsqu'il s'agit de maintenir leur propre santé et bien-être.
