The Status of Students

During the winter of 1967 /68 an article entitled "The Student as Nigger" was printed in a number of student newspapers in North America. As far as I know this article was never included in any of the more popular family publications which are currently engaged in exploring student unrest, presumably because the author, Gerry Farber, used a large number of taboo words in making his point. Yet he made it very well indeed, and it is a pity that his piece is not generally available to the popular reader who is presently struggling to understand student behaviour.Downloads
