This paper presents the results of a research study conducted to determine perceptions of student teachers, co-operating teachers, school administrators, and supervisors concerning the responsibilities, skills, and attitudes of university supervisors toward special education field experienccs. Results indicate that student teachers expect more from their university supervisors then do cooperating teachers. It is believed that a better comprehension of the multifaceted aspects of university supervisors' tasks and a better understanding of all participants expectations toward the supervisors would lead to a more positive field experience and greater collaboration between stakeholders.
