Responsibilities of Communications Coordinators

  • Creating, editing, and sharing weekly content through social media platforms (primarily Instagram and LinkedIn)
  • Collaborating with internal teams to build and execute social media strategies to increase brand awareness and engagement
  • Monitoring social media channels for member feedback, questions, and concerns and responding 
  • Using social media tools to track and analyze social media performance and report on key metrics
Requirements for the Role: 
  • Excellent writing, editing (photo/video/text), grammar, presentation, and communication skills
  • Social networking experience and basic graphic design skills (primarily Canva however experience with Photoshop, AdobeInDesign, etc, conisdered an asset)
  • Able to work individually and as a team

Responsibilities of Peer Reviewer or Copyeditor

Reviewers and Copyeditors are integral to maintaining The Motley's editorial standards and are an essential part of The Motley team. 

Peer reviewers make recommendations to the editor on whether or not the work should be published, and provide feedback to authors to help them revise and improve their work before publication. If hired, peer reviewers are expected to read and follow journal guidelines and ethics policies. Reviews are assigned on a rolling basis (sent out as articles are submitted throughout the year). 
 
Copyeditors fulfill two roles: copy editing and author relations. Editors focusing on fine tuning the grammar, clarity, and reference accuracy of submissions after they are accepted to the journal. They communicate directly with student authors to provide strategies that allow their thoughts to shine as bright as they can.
