Author Guidelines

GENERAL AUTHOR GUIDELINES

We are currently accepting works of no more than 1500 words for presentation in February. Please ensure your piece adheres to our PBGRC style sheet and PBGRC template.  Submissions which do not adhere to the style sheet and template will be automatically rejected.

Submission is not a guarantee of acceptance. Please be patient. The PBGRC team will reach out in the Fall semester with additional details and notifications. Accepted submissions presented at the conference will be published in the next PBGRC issue.

Please indicate your prefered presentaiton format when submitting by idicatign your preference in the "Comments to the Editor" section.

Supported presentation formats include 

  • Classic Research Talks (10 minutes presentation, 2 minutes Q&A)

  • Poster Sessions (5 minute talks followed by Q&A in the poster hall)

  • Non-Traditional Formats [upon request] (workshops, art exhibitions, performances)

CITATION STYLE GUIDELINES

As this is an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary journal, we welcome submissions in many different citation styles. Please make a submission in the style common to your field. To ensure consistency and accuracy in referencing, all authors must use the most recent edition of their field’s standard citation style. Accepted citation styles include:

  • American Psychological Association (APA) Style
  • Chicago Manual of Style (footnotes, endnotes, or author-date style accepted)
  • Modern Language Association (MLA) Style
  • Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Style
  • American Medical Association (AMA) Style
  • Council of Science Editors (CSE) Style 

Whenever possible, please include a URL link for all electronic references. Authors are responsible for ensuring their citations are correct and up to date. Manuscripts that do not follow these guidelines may be rejected or require revisions.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it under consideration elsewhere (or explain in Comments for the Editor).
  • The submission is no more than 1500 words (excluding references).
  • The submission is being made by a graduate student at the University of Calgary (or explain in Comments for the Editor).
  • The submission follows the PBGRC style guide.
  • The submission was formatted using the PBGRC template attached to the style guide.
  • I am submitting a Microsoft Word document.
  • I hope to present this work at the next PBGRC in February (dates TBD) and will indicate my presenation format in the "Comments for the Editor" or I'm submitting to a special issue call.
