Editorial Team

Editor 

The editor is responsible for decision making regarding the publication of submitted articles in the journal. The editor typically is guided by the policies of the journal and its editorial board and is constrained by legal requisites (e.g., copyright, academic integrity). The editor is often informed/guided by reviewers in decision making. 

Editorial Board Member 

Editorial board members are a group of individuals with experience in social work who serve as ambassadors in positively representing the journal to colleagues in the social work community. They advise and support the Editor in a variety of tasks such as identifying new topics for inclusion in the journal, offer to write editorials as needed, identify peer reviewers, and offer opinions on a given submission as needed.  

Reviewer 

A reviewer offers peer review in rendering editorial decisions. Reviewers may engage with the submitted manuscript’s author in offering means of manuscript improvement. It is important to note that a potential reviewer who is/feels unqualified to conduct a review and/or who cannot promptly perform a review should decline the review of a submitted manuscript. Communication related to the review of submitted manuscripts should be accurate, objective, and respectful. 

Author 

The author of a report of original research or commentary must present an accurate account of the work performed, ethical scholarship and a reflective discussion of the significance of the work performed relative to its context and relevant literature. Anomalies of unethical, fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unacceptable scholarly practice.
