L’ approche piklérienne en Centre de la petite enfance (CPE) : le jeu selon des éducatrices d’enfants de 3 à 5 ans
Abstract
In Quebec, we note the importance given to educational quality in child care services. However, the results of the two Grandir en qualité surveys (Drouin, Bigras, Fournier, Desrosiers & Bernard, 2004; Gingras, Lavoie & Audet, 2015) show similar results, despite the time interval separating them. It would seem that a better understanding of certain concepts could have helped improve the practices of educational teams, particularly the value of the game, the importance of freeplay and democratic intervention (Gingras & al., 2015). Since some CPE teams are inspired by different pedagogical approaches, a better understanding of the influence of one of these became relevant. Indeed, Emmi Pikler's approach and her view of the autonomous activity (child's play) made its entry into CPEs approximately 10 years ago. Consequently, it is in CPEs where Emmi Pikler's work is used that this study was carried out. This article thus deals with the influence of the Piklerian approach on the concept of play according to educators of children from 3 to 5 years old.
